Elementary Administration

Ivelisse Centeno (School Principal)

Ivy became our elementary school principal after serving five years as an assistant principal, and one year as interim principal. She has been with the school since its inception in 2006, teaching 3rd grade math during the first two years and acting as the sole assistant principal for the next two. With the opening of the ECC in 2010, she was tasked with ensuring the success of that site before moving to our Jefferson Blvd. site when it opened for 2012-13.  Since that time she had served as our elementary school principal.  She has a Master's of Educational Administration from the University of North Texas.


Fernando Hernandez (Vice Principal)

Mr. Hernandez joined LAE for the 2015-16 school year after working as a elementary teacher in Dallas ISD for five years.  During that time, he also served as an LPAC chair and mentor teacher.  He is bilingually certified and has a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University.


Natalia Panicker (K-2 Curriculum Coordinator)

Natalia is in her 6th year at LAE after teaching for six years at the elementary level in Dallas ISD. For her first three years at LAE, she served as the elementary school assistant principal.  She has been the K-2 curriculum coordinator role since 2015-16.  She is bilingually certified and has a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce.


Jessica Henson (Elementary Counselor / Social Worker)

Jessica is in her eleventh year with LAE as a school counselor/social worker. She received her bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2002. She was a case worker for Child Protective Services prior to continuing her education, and she worked as a medical social worker while attending graduate school. Jessica completed her internship with Dallas ISD, received her master's degree in Social Work in 2007 and began her career as a Licensed Master Social Worker with LAE, where she serves prek-5th grade students and their families.
