Magaly Hernandez currently serves as a bilingual kindergarten teacher. This is her second year with LAE as a kindergarten teacher. Her primary responsibilities include teaching the core subjects: reading, math, science, social studies and writing. She brings her experience of working with K-4 students as a computer teacher. She also has experience as a school receptionist and worked in banking for over 10 years. Prior to joining the LAE staff in 2017 as a kindergarten teacher, Magaly Hernandez worked for Life School for two school years.
Magaly Hernandez has three boys of her own and is happily married.

Katie Rawls currently serves as a kindergarten teacher. Her primary responsibility includes preparing young minds to excel and teaching her students the joy of reading. She brings with her a passion for teaching and a love of children. Prior to joining the LAE staff in 2018 as a kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Rawls was a pre-k teacher for another local charter school. Before entering into teaching, she co-owned a local business with her husband.
Mrs. Rawls is married to Mr. Rawls, the elementary computer teacher for LAE. Their three children also attend LAE. Mrs. Rawls loves to spend time with her family. She also enjoys gardening, reading, writing, and playing fetch with her dog, Roscoe.

Ms. Pleasant currently serves as Kindergarten teacher. She brings with her a passion for teaching young children how to read and making learning fun! Prior to joining the LAE staff in 2016 as a kindergarten teacher, Ms. Pleasant worked in the Dallas ISD for 23 years as a pre-k and kindergarten teacher. Ms. Pleasant received her M.ED in Advanced Literacy from Concordia University in 2013. Her experience in education spans from pre-k through second grade.
Ms. Pleasant has a beagle named Penny. In her free time, she enjoys taking Penny for long walks and spending time with friends and family. She also has five nephews and a niece, all of whom live in Austin and Charlotte, North Carolina.
