Important technology distribution update!

Based on the responses to our technology survey, we are working on our laptop distribution plan. You will receive a message informing you of your pick-up date and time window. Please wait for this notice before coming to the campus. Be aware that this process will take time, and in some cases, distribution may occur after the start of school. We are experiencing challenges with the supply chain due to the high demand and we are awaiting delivery of some of our orders. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you were not able to complete the survey and are in need of a computer to ensure that there is at least one computer in your household, email sadmin@laetx.org. Thank you.

Gracias.

Important update from LAE

The global pandemic has certainly met the definition of unprecedented. It has thrust all of us into a new “normal” and things are changing rapidly. I wanted to reach out and update you on where LAE is now, and where we are likely to be in the coming days. Please read the letter below for important information.

COVID 19 Information / School Closure

Given the evolving situation with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and recommendations of the authorities, LAE will be closed until it is deemed safe to resume normal operations. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

As a reminder, LAE staff provided access to curriculum resources for students in grades PK3-8th prior to Spring Break.
Learning packets were sent home with PK students and login information was sent with students in K-8th grades.

LAE's COVID-19 Parent Letter (Spanish)

The CDC recommends the following steps for individuals who have traveled to Level 3 Travel Health Notice countries and areas in the U.S. affected by COVID-19:

1. Take your temperature with a thermometer two times a day and monitor for fever. Also watch for cough or trouble breathing.
2. Stay home and avoid contact with others. Do not go to work or school for this 14-day period. Discuss your work situation with your employer before returning to work.
3. Do not take public transportation, taxis, or ride-shares during the time you are practicing social distancing.
4. Avoid crowded places (such as shopping centers and movie theaters) and limit your activities in public.
5. Keep your distance from others (about 6 feet).

LAE is Going Paperless!

Parents, we no longer send home paper calendars or lunch menus, and are trying to limit the number of other miscellaneous hands-outs as well. Instead, these handouts can be found here. Paper copies of these documents are available at the reception desk upon request.

School Vision

A strong educational foundation is the key to success for all students. Quality education levels the playing field and enables all students to reach their greatest potential. Instruction must be tailored to the needs of the students and should provide opportunities that take the learner beyond the school walls. Furthermore, students and their parents play an active role in the learning process, participating willingly in a risk-free environment, guided by nurturing, knowledgeable and effective teachers and administrators.
